The AT&T Fuze (aka HTC Touch Pro) and Other New Devices
The HTC Touch line is one of the hottest in the Windows Mobile world, and it’s great to see the carriers coming out with their versions of the HTC Touch Pro, now including the AT&T Fuze. Again, this device has the popular TouchFlo 3D interface and a slideout keyboard. This week we’ll also mention the HTC HD and Pharos phone/GPS devices.

Ultimate Comparison of the iPhone 3G to other Mobile operating systems and devices - Part I
At last, I was able to afford an iPhone 3G without an expensive data / phone plan (meaning a much higher starting price). Of course, I've been playing with the device since then. See my review HERE.

Recent Freeware and Free Services
I’ve rounded up some freebies that I’ve heard about in recent weeks for this week’s column, including Facebook interfaces, an open beta of the Skyfire web browser, and services such as free GPS route recording and free mobile blogging.

A Final Look Back at Smartphone and PocketPC Magazine...
This month, in our monthly blog topic, we are doing a fairwell tribute to our magazine as it goes to the printer for the final issue. So, I thought it fitting to start with a screenshot of one of my favorite PDAs of all time--the iPAQ 3900. I bought my first copy of this magazine at around the same time I bought my 3955. It still works great, and I sometimes use it when I have to travel to places where I'm afraid my newer devices will get damaged or lost. I would often pack a copy of our magazine to take along as well.

Personal note: yes, I'm still here
I haven't had the time to post anything the last few weeks.

Mac Loves WinMo?
I recently received an announcement from Eltima Software regarding a new product of theirs called SyncMate. Unfortunately I don't have a Mac so I can't relate any first hand experience with this software (yet), but it sounds pretty nifty, so I thought I'd let all of you know about it in case you happened to own a Mac and a Windows Mobile device. And since the lite version is free, you have nothing to lose for giving it a try!
"From now on, synchronizing your Mac with Pocket PC is as easy as one, two, three! Let us introduce SyncMate to you! SyncMate is a new and very simple synchronization tool by Eltima Software. It is presented in two versions, Free and Expert.

Battle of the UI Replacements!

Wisbar (on the left), and Winterface (on the right) both have new versions of their UI enhancement apps available this month. Vito is releasing Winterface with a new free weather plug-in, so I'll have to put my dusty, shabby ex-weather man hat on and review it. I've been a Wisbar fan since like waaay back in the day when just having something besides the ugly start menu to look at was cool (so we thought). I even have some WA skins of my own somewhere. God, what a lot of work that was...I digress!

Free Mobile Services, News on New Devices
This week I have updates on two mobile services: KeyToss mobile portal, and the Slifter mobile shopping service. Plus, we have the news from HTC that the Touch HD won’t come to the U.S. — but that the HTC Fuze is supposedly coming from AT&T later this month.
