Is That an iPod Touch in your Pocket, or Are You Just Glad to See Me?

I have a 3rd generation iPod. I bought it 2004 after one of our summer interns, a rabid apple fanboy assured me that it would work with windows. Nice of Apple to have not made that clear before, but oh well. Off I was to the local electronics superstore. It and I have been happily mated (except for the crappy headphones, but that's what after market headset purchase are for) ever since.

There have been many generations, and several new models since I got my 3G, but I have not fallen for the siren lure. Even with my passion for pocket pcs, I have skipped generations.

Is there a new version of mobile Skype available, and does it support Smartphones?

I was browsing the Skype for Windows Mobile forums and learned that they've launched Skype 2.2 Beta for Windows Mobile devices. And further more, not only does it offer enhanced support for Pocket PCs, but it now supports Smartphones as well, and as in previous versions, there is support for lower-power processors.

News on Digital TV receiver SDIO cards

In the comment section of this blog post, I elaborated on the (then) available digital TV receiver cards compatible with Pocket PC’s (in addition to, of course, the analogue cards – check the link for a discussion of them).

Additional Windows Mobile Infrared Inter/Intra-Platform Communication Issues; What Conduits' PeaceMaker Pro Is For?

Here follows a quick follow-up to my previous, big, Pocket PC Thoughts-frontpaged article on Windows Mobile vs. other platforms communication. In here, I elaborate a bit more on Palm OS vs Windows Mobile and intra-WindowsCE communication issues. I also explain what PeaceMaker Pro can be used for.

You should definitely read this article if you want to know how you can exchange data with the oldest Pocket PC brands. This information may prove VERY handy (and even life/business-saving!) if you meet people that (still) use these kinds of Pocket PC’s.

Also, it contains some additional, Palm OS-related tips and tricks that may prove REALLY useful if you need to do any kind of data / file transfer with Palm users - for example, easily transferring Pocket Word / Word Mobile or Notes files.

What about the new Windows-powered Treo 700wx Smartphone from Palm?

Today, I spent quite a bit of time on a number of tech sites including Engadget, PhoneLaunch, SprintUsers, Gadgets on the Go and TreoCentral looking up information on Palm's new Windows-powered Treo 700wx Smartphone.

According to Palm's site, Sprint Nextel will be offering it for "as low as $499 USD/ESP", while it will be available from Verizon for "as low as $299 USD/ESP".

Can We Expect New Windows-powered Devices in 2006?

BengalBoy.com is reporting that they have found the HTC 2006 Roadmap just lying somewhere around the internet. And an interesting roadmap it is.

Now, I don't usually spend my time reading articles on sites which promote themselves as a "wireless gentlemen's club" and which are definitely NSFW (not safe for viewing while at work) because it is just what its slogan implies it is and that's not to my taste, but interesting information can come from anywhere.
