I’ve rounded up some freebies that I’ve heard about in recent weeks for this week’s column, including Facebook interfaces, an open beta of the Skyfire web browser, and services such as free GPS route recording and free mobile blogging.

As we've noted before, Google's Android isn’t related to Windows Mobile, but we cover it here because it’s one more indication of the trend toward Internet-centric touch devices. Plus this week we’ll note new mobile video sharing sites that even let you stream live video from your device.

The Multiplatform Podcasting / Podcatching Bible

For example, watching all the clips of X-Play, played back on my VGA HP iPAQ 214 (thanks to Smartphone & PPCMag / iPhone Life’s Hal Goldstein for the gift!) could entertain me for long-long hours.
